South Pointe Tavern – New Bar Opening
South Pointe Tavern, a new South of Fifth bar on South Beach, boasts the largest selection of whiskeys and tequilas. The tavern’s signature cocktails are curated by Distilled Hospitality and head bartender Marinko Rankovic.
Interesting drink menu selections range from Tavern Old Fashioned –made with Jim Beam Black and coffee reduction, to Day Trip To Oaxaca – mixed with Ilegal Mezcal Reposado and mole bitters. An attention-grabber is the leafy green Maquina Verde made with exotic Avua Amburana Cachaça –a spirit distilled from sugarcane, and aged in an Amburana wood tank. Check out the recipe:
South Pointe Tavern’s Maquina Verde Cocktail Recipe
INGREDIENTS
2oz Avua Amburana
1.5oz Fresh Kale & Cucumber
.5oz Matcha Tea Syrup .
5oz Fresh Lime Juice
PREPARATION
Add all ingredients into a tin shaker.
Add ice and shake for 20 seconds.
Dump into a high ball glass.
Top with fresh Ice.
Garnish with cucumber slice and salt.
The tavern also offers a variety of bar bites, such as local catch ceviche, artisan meat and cheese boards, gourmet Toast of the Day and Taco of the Day specials.
