Cool off with a Recipe for a Downtown Daiquiri

Hot summer nights call for ice cold beverages so today, we’re taking you on a trip to C.W.S. Craft Bar + Kitchen where Bill Binder, a.k.a. the guy who makes drinks, offers a contemporary drink menu composed of classic cocktails, creative twists and others that are crafted at the spur of the moment. This newly opened  hot spot, located in downtown Lake Worth,  combines three concepts into one — a morning coffeeshop; a laid-back beer garden with long wooden tables and occasional live music; and a sophisticated, indoor, speakeasy-type den area where guests can enjoy a full dinner menu.

Since craft cocktails have been on our mind lately, we took some time to speak with Bill Bender — and convinced him to share with us his recipe for the Downtown Daiquiri (a special that was being offered on the night of our visit).  Although this one requires you to prepare one of the spirits in advance, it is well worth it.

Downtown Daiquiri

Ingredients:
2 ounces Flor de Cana Rum (infused with lemongrass)
1 ounce cane sugar syrup
1 ounce fresh lime juice
5-7 mint leaves
2 dashes of Bitter Truth lemon bitters

Serve in a coupe glass.
