Boca Raton will be all about all-natural Angus beef burgers, flat-top dogs and frozen custard, as Danny Meyer’s Shake Shack opens it’s 3rd Florida outpost today at 11:00 a.m at 1400 Glades Road in the University Commons shopping center (just off of Glades Rd). No longer will Palm Beach county residents have to trek on down to Dade County to indulge in their Shake Shack menu items, but now it will be in their backyard — and it’s opening up at the perfect time — Earth Day.
This location is made up of environmentally-friendly products — think taple tops sourced from bowling alley lanes, floor tiles from recycled content & wooden chairs, booths and interior walls are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). The kitchen even utilizes energy-efficient kitchen equipment with 100% of the electric usage is offset through Renewable Energy Credits. Free Wi-Fi will also be available.
The menu will consist of Shake Shack favorites like Shackburgers, Shack-cago Dogs and fries — and add in some products unique to Boca (specialty concretes) that are sure to help us get through the steamy South Florida summer. The Mizner’s Muse (vanilla frozen custard with cheesecake blondie, strawberry puree and cinnamon marshmallow sauce); Burrowing Banana (chocolate frozen custard and a slice o fThe Sugar Monkey salted caramel banana cream pie) and Glades Donuts (vanilla frozen custard, The Sugar Monkey’s glazed cake donut, peanut butter sauce and chocolate toffee). 5% of sales from the Glades Donut concrete will benefit Gumbo Limbo Nature Center (a 501 (c)3 that helps coastal and marine ecosystems through research, education, preservation and conservation).
