Little Chalet Boca Raton Restaurant Review
The Little Chalet is an elegant restaurant, with Old World European charm, in Downtown Boca Raton. The dimly lit and brick interior, together with live piano music, creates both an enchanting and romantic atmosphere.
While The Little Chalet specializes in Swiss-style fondue, it also offers an extensive menu with imported as well as locally-sourced ingredients. To bring this to light, I was invited along with other foodies to indulge in their new seasonal menu.
New appetizer selections that we enjoyed included the roasted Brussel Sprouts tossed with spicy chorizo sausage, roasted beets, and manchego cheese, then dressed with a vinaigrette made with sweet Piquilla pepper. The table mutually raved about the meal-size dish of delectable pan seared Scallops resting on crunchy sweet corn and lima bean succotash.
Stand-out entrees included the elegant Confit of Duck Leg, topped with a rich, sweet port-cherry sauce and a fried duck egg. The hearty dish is accompanied by cauliflower puree and broccoli rabe.
Seafood lovers with adore the Flounder En Papillote served with crunchy cucumber-mint slaw and creamy tzatziki sauce. The parchment-wrapped filet is baked with spinach and black olives.
The most unique item on the menu is a new pasta dish, Onions A La Carbonara with parmesan cheese and bacon lardons. Onions al dente serve as the noodles, and are topped with a fresh egg yolk that is to be mixed into the dish to create a decadently creamy egg sauce.
Fondue courses remain on the menu, including dessert. To finish, we dipped fresh strawberries, marshmallows and brownies into sinfully delicious melted Lindt Chocolate and Peanut Butter fondue.
The Little Chalet is located at 485 S Federal Hwy, Boca Raton, FL 33432
