I’m oftentimes asked to give my recommendations on where people should dine — birthdays, anniversaries, you name it — and one of the most frequent requests (and one that I’m often stumped with) is to give a suggestion where someone can dine outdoors, enjoy a waterfront view and experience a great meal at the same time. For all those waterfront-great-dining seekers, I have an answer for you — Graze at Four Seasons Palm Beach.
Although, I had experienced some fabulous meals at Four Seasons in the past, somehow it had fallen off my radar until I was invited in to try out their new concept — Graze. This new concept took over The Bistro — and while the cuisine has changed, the setting remains familiar. You can still dine under the canopied terrace overlooking the pool and ocean, or find a table in the indoor dining room. It’s the perfect getaway, even if it is just for an afternoon of palate-pleasing activity.
Graze is open for breakfast, lunch & dinner — and features a menu of European classics combined with light, fresh, artisanal fare. For breakfast, you can enjoy their buffet filled with hot, cold, savory and sweet dishes — from omelets to waffles to freshly baked good and fruit & yogurt parfaits. During lunch and dinner, you’ll find a myriad of flavors, truly highlighting Chef de Cuisine Jason Van Bomel’s talent. Artisanal cheeses, farm-fresh salads, pastas, seafood dishes and a hearty beef short ribs entree round out the menu. While everything (from the setting to the service to the menu items) was near-perfect, some of my favorites were the salads — watch out meat lovers, you are about to become a vegetable lover.
The Duck Confit Salad with poached pear and watercress; and the Seared Ahi Tuna Salad with arugula, heirloom tomatoes, olives and white anchovies were both worthy of a return visit. Other standouts included the Atlantic Salmon in a puff pastry served over farro and spinach and the Saffron Angel Hair pasta dish with Florida rock shrimp, tomato, garlic, white wine, arugula and basil is a sumptuous take on a traditional dish.
In addition to Graze, visitors to the Four Seasons can dine at Atlantic Bar & Grille for beach food favorites (or for their Friday night weekly clam bake) or at The Restaurant (though The Restaurant will be renovated and a new concept will launch soon).
Graze at Four Seasons is located at 2800 S Ocean Blvd, Palm Beach; (561) 582-2800
