We’ve been a fan of Chef Brian Cantrell ever since his days at A Fish Called Avalon so we were excited to find out that he recently took over the position of Executive Chef at Thasos Greek Taverna.
Located on the corner of A1A and Oakland Park Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale, this chic Greek restaurant has been open since August of last year and features a menu of high-end Greek cuisine. Cantrell, whose resume includes time spent in the kitchens of Prime Italian, Blue Moon Fish Company, A Fish Called Avalon and Nemo will bring his extensive experience to the kitchen of Thasos and combine modern components to the traditional Greek dishes that the restaurant is known for. Houses favorites like fennel salad with orange, frisee, manouri and pine nuts; flame-broiled shrimp Saganaki with roasted tomato and feta; and lamb chops with Yukon gold potatoes, green beans, Thasos oregano and lemon — will all remain on the menu.
Thasos is located at 3330 East Oakland Park Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale; (954) 200-6006.
