You enjoy a comforting brunch menu, while your counterpart wants to be front and center for the big game. Why not compromise and go to Brother Jimmy’s to try their excellent new brunch menu — and of course, their pulled pork, a house specialty.
Their new brunch menu – available on both Saturday & Sunday – showcases “the other white meat” among their classic selection of brunch favorites – all with a Southern twist.
This past Sunday, we were invited to sample some of these new “breakfast meets lunch” dishes. The Brisket Hash with green & red peppers, onions, potatoes & jalapenos, topped with 2 poached eggs & tomato-chive hollandaise sauce, was immediately transferred from my eyes onto my spice-loving palate.
The Carolina Benedict also had caught my eye (& taste buds!). It is made with Brother Jimmy’s homemade corn bread & topped with pulled pork, poached eggs & chipotle BBQ hollandaise. The 2 poached eggs were prepared perfectly medium. When attacked by my fork, they sank down into tender pulled pork & not-too-sweet cornbread. Preferring more sauce, I sampled each of the 3 table side peppery bottles of Brother Jimmy’s barbecue sauces – bold Original, rich Chipotle & vinegary Carolina. The potato home fries & unexpected side of cut fresh fruit never stood a chance for appreciation next to this dish.
Also ordered was the Spinach Shrimp Omelet. A considerate offering for vegetarians, especially when the request for egg white substitutes was accommodated so graciously. From its buttery preparation, the omelet was slightly greasy, yet pleasantly fluffy & loaded with fresh-tasting shrimp.
Other new brunch options include: Chicken & Waffles and Peanut Butter & Fresh Raspberry Stuffed French Toast
To complete the perfect brunch experience, an adult beverage is a must-do. You can select brunch item and pair it with bottomless mimosas (with fresh orange juice) or Miller Lite beers for a fixed price of $29.95. For those of you who love a good Bloody Mary, will be happy to hear that the ones at Brother Jimmy’s BBQ are made from scratch definitely making them a crowd favorite. This secret recipe, created by Miami’s restaurant manager, Mikyle K., may just be the elusive Bloody Mary of your dreams. Try them for yourself, & tell us if we’re spot on!
