If the gorgeous setting and the pistachio yogurt spread isn’t enough to get you in to Apeiro Delray, we now have one more reason for you to add Apeiro to your list. The restaurant just added some new menu items to their menu, courtesy of newly appointed Executive Chef Anthony Sitek (Sitek was recently promoted from Chef de Cuisine to Executive Chef) and an amazing wine and flatbread special.
Since we’ve been a fan of Apeiro for quite some time now (there’s both a Delray and Miami location), we were thrilled to be invited in for a media preview to get a taste of the new items. First up, that famous Pistachio Yogurt Spread.
Although not new to the menu at Apeiro, the tangy, pistachio yogurt spread is still one of my favorite items on the menu and it comes out as part of the Apeiro Spreads. This must-order platter, available for lunch or dinner, is served with a medley of spreads (hummus, eggplant caponata, pistachio yogurt), tzatziki, extra virgin olive oil & balsamic and warm, wood oven baked pita. Ah, pure enjoyment.
It was time to get past the Apeiro spreads, since we were there to check out the new menu items and the Lamb Sliders certainly caught our eyes and whet our palettes. This indulgent lamb burger (our favorite among the small plates that we tried) offered a taste of the Mediterranean in every bite with the addition of the crisp arugula, pickled onion, feta and tzatziki. In addition to the sliders, visitors can also indulge in the flaky Empanadas that come filled with a Greek-inspired medley of short rib, feta and tzatziki.
For those looking for something more substantial, Apeiro just added some decadent entrées to their dinner menu including Greek-Style Stuffed Peppers, Steak Frites with truffle fries and the indulgent Moussaka, complete with charred eggplant, braised short rib and béchamel. These dishes — perfect for the meat lover in all of us — will have you licking your plate clean. (We promise, we won’t judge).
For the perfect, all-encompassing experience, be sure to add in one of Apeiro’s signature side dishes. We recommend the Street Corn and all of its sunny goodness. While we may be more accustomed to the popular Mexican version of street corn, Sitek’s take on this fresh from Florida ingredient shined (thanks to the addition of feta, paprika and Fresno) — and I think that you’ll find a new favorite in this dish.
In addition to excellent menu offerings, Apeiro Delray offers an amazing rewards program that I highly recommend you sign up for. It works for all of the restaurants in Rapoport’s Restaurant Group — and grants you a $25 gift card on your birthday. Ask your server for all of the details.
