South Florida bread lovers rejoice!! Thanks to the expanded partnership with Whole Foods Market South Florida stores, fans of Miami’s Bread King, Zak Stern, now more options to visiting his shop, in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood, to buy their favorite Zak The Baker fresh baked goods.
Hitting the stores’ shelves are loaves of Country Wheat Hearth Bread; Jewish Rye Hearth Bread; Multigrain Hearth Bread; Olive Zataar Hearth Bread; Artisan Baguette; Cranberry Walnut Hearth Bread -and, exclusive to Whole Foods Market South Florida stores, a specialty Babka.
Stern’s bread is made with natural leaven, hand shaped, and baked on stones, a process that has been practiced for thousands of years. He is committed to carrying on the tradition and delivering fresh every morning. Every loaf of bread and babka is made in his Wynwood bakery. Whole Foods Market’s provide a local venue to connect the community with neighborhood suppliers, offering shoppers a unique forum to purchase one-of-a-kind goodies not found at traditional grocery stores including fresh locally grown produce and homemade artisan products.
Although Zak Stern instantly became the premier bread maker in South Florida after popping up in the Wynwood scene, his collaboration with Whole Foods Market took off in January 2015 when the Whole Foods Market Downtown Miami store began offering Zak the Baker goods. In an effort to help push local supplier growth, most Whole Foods Market’s tri-county locations (Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach) will introduce an extended selection of Stern’s artisanal products.
“Our partnership with Whole Foods Market is a beautiful example of a large national retailer and a small local craftsman coming together to bring out the best in each other,” said Zak Stern.
Participating stores include Downtown Miami, Coral Gables, Aventura, North Miami, Pinecrest, South Beach, Davie, Fort Lauderdale, Pompano Beach, Boca Raton, West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, and Wellington.
