It’s an exciting day today, the day when the 2013 James Beard semifinalists are announced — and this year we have some locals on the list. Were your favorite chefs and restaurants recognized?
Here are the restaurants for the South Florida dining scene:
- Best New Restaurant – Khong River House, Miami Beach
- Outstanding Bar Program – The Broken Shaker, Miami Beach
- Outstanding Pastry Chef – Hedy Goldsmith, Michael’s Genuine, Miami
- Rising Star Chef of the Year – Giorgio Rapicavoli, Eating House, Coral Gables
- Best Chef South – Clay Conley, Buccan, Palm Beach; Jeff Mcinnis, Yardbird Southern Table & Bar, Miami; Jose Mendin, Pubbelly, Miami Beach
