We took a trip to Brickell for another fabulous night out at The Oceanaire Seafood Room. This time we changed things up and explored the world of oysters with Chef Kareem. A lucky group of oyster enthusiasts gathered for this intimate tasting to sip on glasses of La Marca Prosecco, with it’s light, fruity notes, and slurp down oysters. Chef Kareem walked us through the tasting, introducing us to the oysters of the west coast from Hammersly Inlet to Pickering Passage — and while we were tempted to add the common accoutrements, we quickly found that to enjoy the oyster’s terroir, pure is better. Chew the oyster once or twice and you will fully take in the flavors. While we surely enjoyed the oysters on the half shell, Chef reminded us that there are many ways to enjoy this delectable, aquatic treat as he spoiled us with plates of fried oysters and Oysters Rockefeller.
