Remember the day when you heard that there might be a bacon shortage … oh yes, our hearts were pumping, as that would have been a sad day.
Now, it’s time for your heart to start pumping again, as 2013 BaconFest Florida is about to make its debut with Chef Todd Fischer from Discovery’s Destination America network show, ‘United States of Bacon,’ as its host. The event will take place at Seminole Casino Coconut Creek on Sat., Feb 23, 2013 at 6:00 pm. The theme for the evening is bacon and featured headliners include The Bacon Brothers, of course, and The Dan Band with Dan Finnerty. That’s only the beginning of the bacon theme.
During this outdoor concert, guests will enjoy bacon-inspired food samples from 20 South Florida restaurants; chefs will compete in a throw down, where the judges will be looking for the best bacon recipes in the “sweet” and “savory” categories; and a ‘Hog’ bike show will take place; In addition, there will be carnival games and other bacon-related activities.
While this is a first for South Florida, BaconFest has won crowds over in Chicago, New York and Kansas City.
Tickets are $25 and can be purchased through TicketMaster. You must be 21 or older to attend.
Are you a chef or caterer who can create magic with bacon? You are in luck, as they are still looking for some people to compete — and create something sweet or savory with bacon. For more information, contact The Buzz Agency.
